The album features raw distortion and chaotic sounds that feel precarious. With mid to slow tempos, the tracks address existential anxiety, cultural conditioning, and political entrapment. Overdriven guitars clash with clipped drums, while dark synths complement haunting screams. LUB invites listeners to experience an inner revolution and is a collaboration between the art gallery Soft Commodity and Perf.

Amuleto Apotropaico creates a unique sound to ward off demons through innovative noise music. Their debut album, released on May 23, 2025, is the first from the Perf label, featuring four tracks compiled from concert recordings over the last two years. The opening tracks, Apotropia I & II, explore texture and density with percussion and flute-guitar patterns. Albedo e Rito highlights their melodic style, building to an uplifting peak. Lastly, Bruxa do Calhau Branco combines layered drums and synths, concluding the experience with ambient sounds.

AMULETO APOTROPAICO
Amuleto Apotropaico is a Portuguese duo formed in 2021, consisting of António Feiteira (drums & electronics) and Francisco Pedro Oliveira (guitar, flute & electronics). Growing up in Santa Maria da Feira and now based in Porto, they draw inspiration from the traditions of Northern Iberia. Their music embodies cycles that intertwine the past and present, creating a sonic ceremony that reshapes its own legacy. If time-travel exists, this duo has discovered how.

Released on June 27, 2025, Surface Disorder features music from Jonathan Uliel Saldanha's exhibition of the same name in Porto and Lisbon (2024-25). His work evokes a Ballardian near-future dystopia, delving into torment without a hidden moral.
“Information from Angels” presents a provocative AI oracle (The Mouth) amid lush harmonies and a subdued bassline, creating a 15-minute fever dream reflecting Saldanha’s longstanding themes. “Swarming the Pit” showcases Saldanha’s sonic wizardry through a dynamic swarm of granular textures, from falling coins to revving engines, representing an evolution of music conrète. The closing track, “Wolf & Virus Dialogues,” features The Mouth with a distinct texture, where voice articulations trigger instrumental sounds. This interplay highlights the tension between computational certainty and its unnerving realization.

JONATHAN ULIEL SALDANHA
Jonathan Uliel Saldanha is a multi-instrumentalist and visual artist who has been making music for 20 years. Known for his work under the name HHY on Nyege Nyege Tapes, he has collaborated with The Kampala Unit and The Macumbas. His unique sound continues to evolve, and he recently launched his own label, Horror Vector.
